George Hayward studied Art and Design first at Cambridge and later at Chelmsford in the UK. He pursued his ambition to be a full time painter and also worked in ceramics on the Isle of Wight before emigrating to Australia. Now fortunate to have his own purpose built rammed earth studio in Kalamunda he is able to combine his own painting time with that of running “just paint” art classes. His preference is acrylic although he also works in oils and pastel. With an impatient and spontaneous style, acrylics allow him the freedom he requires. Nature and landscape have always been a major influence in his work. However, he paints whatever stirs his emotions, especially those that rise from deep within.
Helen Hayward loves to paint, loves the process of painting and keenly continues to explore techniques which enable her to express feelings and emotions which arise from an intense connection with nature and the landscape.
